LARGE PROJECT OF THE YEAR - University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital
This award is given to the Project that represents the best use of CPP Partners, and is $10 million or more in construction costs. The Project must have been recognized during the CPP meetings during the current year.
Over the last three years, thanks to the generosity of the Kurt Amplatz Family and the dedication of the General Contractor, Kraus-Anderson, this project has used several CPP partnerships such as Stripe Right with Carciofini, DelPrado with Target Commercial Interiors and Reiling Construction with Kraus-Anderson itself.
CPP PARTNERSHIP OF THE YEAR -
Target Commercial Interiors and DelPrado Commercial Flooring
This is awarded to a partnership that actively promotes the mission of CPP through their partnership and their commitment to the CPP Program. The partnership must be currently active and attend the CPP meetings during the year.
This partnership repeats their award from 2007 and, indeed, they were recognized separately in 2008. The partnership has worked for a variety of projects throughout the year and has even expanded to working in Wisconsin together.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR - McGough Construction
This award is given to a General Contractor that has shown a commitment to the CPP program. The GC must have used partnerships on projects, been active in CPP Meetings during the current year, and has consistently shown an ongoing commitment to minority and women owned contractors.
Even during the recent recession that hit the construction industry particularly hard, McGough Construction continued to reach out and demonstrate their willingness to work toward inclusion on their projects.
Not only is McGough this year's General Contractor of the Year but it has also won four awards during the six years since the CPP started recognizing these efforts. The best partner and General Contractor on the best project in 2005, the best Majority Partner in 2007, and it was also General Contractor on last year's Small Project of the Year.
